Martin Welch, The Original "Crab Man"

I started painting crabs in May of 2002.

The paintings of the crabs and seafood began with a fish on a board, and
around the same time a dysfunctional  family called "The Sinclairs"  made
their appearance.

The paintings of the crabs and the fish started out as a type of Sumi
painting with colors, inspired by cubism.  I used bright colors and palette
knife to depict the crabs and give them the shape and vibrant look.
Timothy Buckless and I have been going to art markets
for over 7 years and with his help all the shows and
the book work gets done.  It is the whole left side right
side brain thing.  Math was never my subject in school.
I have become known for my crab paintings.
But Don't forget !!!!!
I paint other things also; take a look at the paintings above.  The painting
on the left is called "The Old Goat Barn" and is owned by Mrs. Herman R.
Cohen.
